Who We Are
Formed in April 1996, Valeways is a unique voluntary environmental organisation that supports a diverse range of volunteers to re-open and promote the Vale of Glamorgan's glorious countryside.
We are an independent registered charity no. 1062031.
What We Do
Valeways main activities are:
Protecting and maintaining public rights of ways in the Vale of Glamorgan
Promoting the health and social benefits of walking through our website, social media and waymarked self-guided walks
Providing an ongoing programme of volunteer-led walks at different levels and an annual walking festival
How We Are Run
Valeways is a registered Charitable Incorporated Organisation, and is run and managed entirely by volunteers – there are no paid staff. It is not a membership organisation, although it does have a Friends programme.
As a registered charity, Valeways has a written constitution and submits an annual return and accounts to the Charity Commission.
There is a small group of Trustees (minimum 3, maximum 12), which is responsible for managing the Charity, with the assistance of a volunteer Administrator.
